in the day when it was hard to find a store that was open on thanksgiving. well, toys r us are having special hours today, they opened at 8:00. and just about an hour ago, there were about half a dozen people in the line. ask now it extends about three dozen or more people down the line. sears and walmart will be opening at 8:00. target plans to open at 9:00, that is three hours earlier than last year, and other stores such as best buy are sticking to their midnight times, but they're offering up deep discounts, like laptops up to $180 to draw people in, people who are waiting are saying that it's worth it for the deals, and some away they came for the fun of it, but certainly during they say tough economic times, they're looking for some of the deals as these stores want to keep these lines running. >> now we go to kara lou with that best buy in emeryville with why experts say that online shopping could affect the black friday turn out this year. >> reporter: well, heather this is one of the healthier lines, and as the wraps around the store. more than 165 people in line. but customers tell

in the bay." >>> good morning to you, thanks for joining us. i'm laura gaurg-cannon. >> and i'm jon kelly. we have new details after a wild police chase ended in a heap of twisted metal and shattered glass. a drunk driver under arrest and we just learned a bicyclist has been released from the hospital. bob redell is live in san francisco with the latest on this wild scene there, bob. good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you, jon. yes, that driver chp tells us her name is serena borrows. she's a 23-year-old woman and they el us it's not the first time she's been arrested for dui. she ended up crashing her car here at 17th and van ness where she also took out a signal box, which is one reason they have flares set up in the streets because the lights are still out as the city of san francisco tries to fix the mess that she allegedly created. her first collision during this chase throughout the city took place not far from her, 15th and natoma where she hit a bicyclist. he was next to a car that she ran into. that car hit him and he was taken to the hospital as a precaution, minor injuries.

for joining us on this sunday morning. i'm kris sanchez. another stormy night across the bay area. we're keeping a close eye on that fragile hillside in daly city. crews were making sure that storm drains didn't back up with mud or any other kind of debris. and bales of hay line the area. on tuesday you may recall the road was a river of mud after water main broke sending tens of thousands of gallons of water into the neighborhood. a dozen cars were buried up to their hubs in mud. let's check in with meteorologist rob mayeda. residents in that neighborhood are feeling very wary. i think it's safe to say the danger has passed, do you think? >> last night we had a significant rainfall around the bay area. most of it fell in three to four hour's time. san francisco over a third of an inch of rain. san jose, about a half inch of rain. hayward about close to a third. a few other locations more than a half inch of rain. uniform event for most of the bay area picking up a third to about a half inch of rain which explains the spinouts overnight as rain continued to fall. the showers have shut
